dividends, interest, and rent; and personal current transfer
receipts received by the residents of Mercer. In 2001 net earnings
accounted for 69.3 percent of TPI (compared with 68.0 in 1991);
dividends, interest, and rent were 18.8 percent (compared with
20.7 in 1991); and personal current transfer receipts were 11.9
percent (compared with 11.3 in 1991). From 2000 to 2001 net
earnings increased 2.7 percent; dividends, interest, and rent
increased 1.6 percent; and personal current transfer receipts
increased 10.7 percent. From 1991 to 2001 net earnings increased
on average 5.4 percent each year; dividends, interest, and rent
